Hello families!
We have been busy!  We are working on elapsed time as of this week!  We will take our benchmark in math and reading on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  This is a good indiactor of how they will do on STAAR.  Please make sure students are in class on time on Tuesday and Wednesday.
I am sending math homework home nightly with one problem we go over in class the next day.  Please make sure they are taking this home and bringing it back nightly.
We are working on a math class for parents the week of March 3.  We want to show you how to do the "new" math your students are completing in class.  Please make plans to attend (a note will go home this week!)
Please make sure your students are bringing home and correcting all grades below a 70.  This helps them understand the math / reading and correct their mistakes!
Have a great weekend!

Hello Families!
I hope you enjoyed your week long break!  I relaxed, ate and rejuvenated and I am ready to tackle the 3 weeks until Christmas Break!
We are knee deep in our division unit.  We will finish this Friday and they will take an assessment next Monday.  I am working on getting a parent university together to teach you some of the "new" ways of multiplication and division.  My goal is to do one a month in December(hopefully), January, February and March.  This would be a way for you to come and see some of the problems your students are doing and for you to ask questions!  We want to partner with you in your child's education and if you can help them with homework, what better way?
If you ever have questions or concerns, please call or email! Please sign your child's planner nightly!
See you tomorrow!

Well I am a few short days of starting a brand new school year.  Students may not realize this, but teachers are nervous too.  I love the anticipation a new school year brings.  There is an excitement to beginning to unpack my room and think about what the year holds for us!
I also think about my former students.   I miss them and can't wait to see them!  I know they have grown so much and I know they are ready to tackle 5th grade!
I still don't know who my students are, but I cannot wait to meet them and get to know them!  See you August 26th when we begin our journey through Fourth grade!

Wow!  We are 6 1/2 days from the end of the school year.  My how the year has flown.  I hope your child has enjoyed the school year.  We have laughed, we have cried, we have been frustrated, but we pushed through and your child is almost a 5th grader!
Please keep them working on their math facts and various problems (I will send home a packet if you would like it)  and keep them reading.  It is important that they do not  fall behind in the summer months.  I will be sending questions you can ask after they read a book or article or even a webpage.
If you have any questions or need any assistance over the summer, please email me.  I check my work email daily and I am giving you my personal email as well.

I hope that you see this as a productive year for your child.  Thank you for the honor of teaching your child.

Hello families!
I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break!
Please know that we are quickly approaching STAAR testing!  We have 2 weeks when we get back before the writing test.  Please remind your child the importance of focusing during class and completing work and turning it in.
Please sign planners nightly and check for graded papers on Tuesdays.  Students can correct work that received a grade of less than 70 to a 70.  When they correct the work, it must be corrected to receive credit.
Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Hello Families!
I trust you and your children have had a fantastic break!  Monday will be here before we know it!
Please make sure your children are doing their homework.  We do not grade it, there is no conduct  points taken off, but it is invaluable practice and review.  If they do not turn in their homework on Thursday for Math and Friday for reading and spelling, then they miss their recess.  I spoke to most of you during parent teacher conferences about this and for the most part the kids turn in their work.  Keep up the good work!
This week we are finishing up our addition unit and beginning subtraction.  Please look for the ways we do addition and subtraction letter to come home. It will be on a brightly colored piece of paper.  This will help you understand what we are doing in the classroom!  I will scan them both and post them here by the end of the week!
See you Monday!
